One of seven bidders has dropped out of the running for the 600MW Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm in Denmark.
The Danish Wind Industry Association said German companies WPD, Stadtwerke Munchen and local partner Hofor had withdrawn due to ongoing political uncertainty surrounding the country’s support for offshore.
“It is very unfortunate that we see an international consortium withdrawing from Denmark,” said director DWIA Jan Hylleberg.
“It confirms what the industry has said, that the political uncertainty in the energy regime is liable to frustrate the green transition and that the government should instead stay on track and stick to agreements,” he added.
Bidders were pre-qualified in autumn 2015 and binding bids are due back with officials in November.
