Lekela Power has acquired the co-development and sole investment rights for the 158MW Taiba Ndiaye wind farm in Senegal.
Lekela, a joint venture between Actis and Mainstream Renewable Power, said financial close on the project is expected later this year.
It now has over 1.3GW of projects under construction and development in Egypt, Ghana, South Africa and Senegal.
Lekela chief executive officer Chris Antonopoulos said: “Lekela is uniquely positioned as a long-term investor to provide clean, secure, reliable and competitive renewable energy in Senegal and across Africa.”
