Community Wind Power’s nine-turbine Sanquhar wind farm in Dumfries and Galloway is to provide power to Nestlé’s operations in the UK and Ireland.
Nestlé’s said the deal is initially for 15 years and will cover half of the company’s electricity needs.
The project is scheduled to be complete in the first half of 2017.
Nestlé UK & Ireland chairman and chief executive officer Dame Fiona Kendrick said: “We announced back in April that all of our grid-supplied electricity is coming from renewable sources but today’s announcement takes things a huge step further.”
