Online geospatial environmental data provider Planet OS is launching its Powerboard system, which aims to help wind farm operators and renewable energy providers boost output by up to 30%.
The company said Powerboard provides data visualisation allowing operators to streamline daily operations and maintenance.
Planet OS said RWE is already using Powerboard on a number of wind farms in its portfolio.
The system is built on cloud-based Planet OS data infrastructure, which can process all major geospatial and Earth Observation data types and formats, in addition to supporting conventional industrial sensor data, the company said.
Planet OS said it also aims to deliver external data by syndicating its database so that clients can access over 800 parameters via one API.
RWE Group chief executive officer Peter Terium said: “We are currently using Powerboard at Gwynt y Môr, our largest offshore wind farm, to help increase our power output and improve operational efficiency.
“As we deploy Powerboard to other renewable energy sites, we hope to further improve our competitive position.”
