DE Shaw Renewable Investments and Bright Plain Renewable Energy have acquired the 31MW Portal Ridge solar project in Lancaster, California from First Solar.
The facility has 20-year power purchase agreements with Pacific Gas and Electric Company and Southern California Edison.
First Solar developed the project and will supply its film solar modules, while Blattner Energy will build the plant pursuant to an engineering, procurement, and construction contract.
Financing for the acquisition, construction and operation of the project was provided by CoBank, ACB and KeyBank National Association, together with commitment for tax equity financing from an affiliate of US Bancorp Community Development Corp.
