Vestas has launched a UK marketing campaign in a bid to highlight the cost competitiveness of onshore wind.
‘Power to your Pocket’ will feature across the Danish manufacturer’s social media platforms providing information about the cost of electricity generated by the sector.
Vestas said it believes the time is right to “reach out directly to consumers” so that they understand that wind is “not just about saving the planet; it’s about saving money too”.
The campaign aims to “help consumers take a fresh look at the options”, the company said.
Vestas vice president, global marketing and public affairs Morten Dyrholm said: “Onshore wind is one of the cheapest sources of new power and soon will be the cheapest.
“An energy mix with higher levels of low cost onshore wind could therefore save consumers money.
“Vestas wants to help consumers understand the benefit onshore wind brings to their pocket as well as their planet.”
