Three of France’s Round 1 offshore wind farms are set to reach financial close by mid-2017.
The developers, which include EDF EN, Enbridge and WPD, are hoping to have the authorisation jigsaw completed by the end of this month. Wind energy opponents will then have four months to file appeals against the projects.
Tenders for substations, foundations, and cables are ongoing with the names of the first preferred bidders expected to be published in the coming weeks.
The 498MW Fecamp, 480MW Saint-Nazaire and 450MW Courseulles projects are located in the English Channel and the Atlantic.
Construction works will kick by 2018 and wrap up two years later. GE will provide the offshore wind farms with 238 Haliade 150 6MW turbines.
