German manufacturer Senvion is to supply 15 MM92 2.05MW turbines for Muirhall Energy’s Tormywheel wind farm, which will be located 2.5km south of Fauldhouse in West Lothian.
Under the terms of the deal, reported in this week’s subscriber-only issue of reNEWS, turbine delivery is expected to start in November, with the project to be commissioned shortly afterwards.
The turbines will have a hub height of 64 metres and a tip height of 111 metres.
Civils contractor AE Yates has been appointed to provide balance of plant for the project.
The company started construction on the site at the end of April.
The project received planning consent in 2007, but was put on hold for seven years due to a NATS issue.
Muirhall and WWS acquired the project in summer 2015 and invested in a Terma radar system for Edinburgh airport, which will be delivered in January 2017 in order to mitigate the NATS issue.
Muirhall Energy managing director Chris Walker said: “We are extremely pleased to be continuing our fantastic working relationship with Senvion, using the same model of turbine we are operating at Muirhall wind farm.
“In addition, we are very excited to be starting a new relationship with AE Yates.
“These two companies have a proven track record of delivering significant infrastructure projects, and we expect Tormywheel to be delivered to the same high standard.”
Senvion Northern Europe managing director Raymond Gilfedder said: “This is our third supply contract with Muirhall Energy and we look forward to delivering another successful project together.”
