GE and Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade have signed a memorandum of understanding to increase the south-east Asian country’s supply of renewable energy.
Under the terms of the deal, GE will help the country develop new wind farms with minimum capacity of 1GW.
GE, which has had a presence in Vietnam for more than two decades, said the wind farms could supply up to 1.8 million homes in the country.
The MoU was signed during President Barack Obama’s first visit to Vietnam.
