EDF EN Israël has commissioned the 50MW peak Zmorot solar photovoltaic power plant in the Negev desert in southern Israel.
The facility covers more than 60 hectares and consists of 200,000 solar panels supplied by Photowatt.
Zmorot was inaugurated by the French Prime Minister Manuel Valls during an official visit to Israel, together with Israeli Ministers of the Environment Protection and of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water and EDF Energies Nouvelles chief executive officer Antoine Cahuzac.
EDF EN Israel now operates 11 solar power plants in the country.
