Statoil’s 402MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm project is making excellent construction progress as it approaches the installation of half the foundations.
So far contractor Seaway Heavy Lifting has put in 23 out of 67 monopiles in just over five weeks of work as the project makes good use of the calm weather.
The suction bucket jacket for the offshore substation is also in the water in an operation led by SPT and lasting just seven days.
Suction technology specialist SPT had hired its contractors for 28 days to complete the job, according to an industry source.
The second export cable is being installed now courtesy of VBMS.
A Statoil spokeswoman said: “Things are going very good for the project.”
Dudgeon will feature 67 Siemens 6MW turbines and is track to go live in the second half of 2017.
