Investment outfit Platina Partners has secured £28m of new funding to refinance its 28MW Danu 2 UK wind farm portfolio.
A pair of unnamed US insurance companies provided the debt, with Lloyds Bank on cue with interest rate swaps and ongoing transaction banking.
The London-based fund was advised by TradeRisks and Orrick. The two 14MW wind farms in the portfolio were not identified.
“The refinancing increased the gearing and the maturity of project senior debt, with the new debt maturity exceeding that of the underlying power offtake and operating and management agreements,” Platina said.
