Scotrenewables Tidal Power has kicked off the sea trials for its 2MW SR2000 turbine.
The world’s biggest tidal turbine started making its way into Belfast Lough today, Belfast Harbour said.
The 550-tonne machine will undergo preliminary tow trials in the inlet before being towed to the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney.
It is the first commercial-scale unit built by the company.
