Fred Olsen Renewables has acquired a majority ownership in the French developer Global Wind Power (GWP) France.
Fred Olsen will acquire a 51% stake in GWP France from Global Wind Power Europe, a Danish company.
Fred Olsen Renewables chief executive officer David Brunt said: “We are very much looking forward to our partnership with GWP Europe.
“Our objective is to follow GWP France’s existing business strategy, providing financial resources to help grow the business and providing support to the team, headed by GWP CEO Michael Sandager.”
GWP Europe CEO Henrik Amby said: “In Fred Olsen Renewables we believe that we have found a perfect match for our business.
“Communication has been open, constructive and positive, and it has been important for us to find a strong partner with a shared long term vision in renewables.”
