Yingli Green Energy is making its multicrystalline YGE-U 1500 series solar panels available in the Americas.
The company said that Underwriters Laboratory recently certified the new panel series for use in projects with maximum system voltages up to 1500 volts DC.
Yingli said the series is an improvement over traditional modules that are typically designed for maximum system voltages of 1000 volts DC.
The panels are available in power classes up to 340W, the company said.
Yingli Green Energy Americas managing director Jeffrey Barnett said: “With industry analysts citing installation cost savings as high as $0.05 per watt when deploying large-scale 1500 V projects, higher maximum system voltages will soon become the industry standard.”
