Canadian Solar has grid-connected six solar power plants in the UK totalling 39.4MW peak.
The facilities were connected to the grid in March 2016 under the Renewable Obligations Certificate programme, the company said.
They bring Canadian Solar’s total fleet of solar power plants in commercial operation in the UK to approximately 103.0MWp.
Canadian Solar chairman and chief executive officer Shawn Qu (pictured) said: “We remain committed to leveraging our industry-leading position and expertise in solar project development to meet the growing demand of clean solar energy in the UK and around the world.”
The company has also has hired Jianyi Zhang as senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer.
Zhang was most recently a senior advisor to several Chinese law firms in Beijing.
They include: Jingtian & Gongcheng; Runbo; East Associates; and East & Concord Partners.
