LM Wind Power has opened a second blade manufacturing plant in India, one month ahead of schedule.
LM said the €25m plant, located in Vadodara in Gujarat, will supply blades to projects in the northern part of India and beyond.
The factory is producing blades up to 60 meters in length with room for further expansion, the company said.
The facility currently employs almost 400 people.
LM Wind Power’s first manufacturing plant in India was opened in the early 1990s in Dabaspet in Karnataka.
LM Wind Power chief executive officer Marc de Jong said: “With this new blade plant, we bring employment, advanced training and development of technical skills to Gujarat, while helping to build a clean renewable energy base in a fast growing economy.”
