The first of four 210-metre high Nordex N131/3000 wind turbines has been erected at the12MW Tyrinselkä wind farm in Finland.
The project is being developed by Tuulivoimaytiö Pohjoistuuli, with renewables consultancy SgurrEnergy providing engineer support.
SgurrEnergy will continue its involvement by providing asset performance management services following energisation.
The project, located in the Humpilla region of southern Finland, is expected to be energised towards the end of 2016, with asset performance management due to continue into 2018.
Tuulivoimaytiö Pohjoistuuli managing director Andrej Sršen said: “Tyrinselkä wind farm is a pilot project under construction in our Finnish wind power portfolio of more than 30 turbines.”
SgurrEnergy implementation team project manager Katherine Blum said: “With its six tower sections and 64.4m long blades, it is tremendous to see the sheer scale of the wind turbines installed this week, and the achievements to date are a result of the hard work from all involved in the project and their respective expertise.
“We will look forward to continuing our longstanding relationship with Tuulivoimaytiö Pohjoistuuli Oy through the completion of the wind turbines and into the operational phase.”
