Australian company Windlab has officially opened the 20MW Coonooer Bridge wind farm in Victoria in Australia.
The project, which is located 80km north-west of Bendigo, consists of six Vestas 3.3MW turbines.
It has been mainly financed by Eurus Energy Holdings of Japan and ANZ bank.
Eurus will own 80% of the wind farm with Windlab and the local community owning the remainder.
Keppel Prince Engineering was employed to build the wind farm.
All electricity generated by Coonooer Bridge will supply Canberra, as part of the Australian Capital Territory’s (ACT’s) Climate Change Action Plan.
The opening ceremony was attended by Simon Corbell, the ACT Attorney-General, Minister for Capital Metro, Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development and Minister for Police and Emergency Services.
