Dong Energy has confirmed that Hughes Sub Surface Engineering will conduct subsea inspections on several of the Danish company’s offshore wind farms in Denmark and Germany.
The deal, which was first reported by reNEWs last week, covers the operational 400MW Anholt wind farm, the under-construction 312MW Borkum Riffgrund project and nearly-complete 582MW Gode Wind 1 & 2 off the coast of Germany.
The Merseyside company will carry out general visual inspection, examining transition pieces, monopiles and boat landing components.
It will also inspect the cable route connecting each turbine to the onshore substation.
The work will start this month and is expected to last until September.
A Hughes SSE spokesperson said: “As UK offshore wind has grown, we have thrived as a company, able to undertake a whole manner of tasks for the industry.
“This is now an exciting opportunity for us to take these skills to projects across the continent and expand our business.”
