MPI jack-up Discovery has completed installation of 15 monopile foundations at the 400MW Rampion wind farm off the south coast of England.
The 138.5 metre vessel kicked-off construction in February after an initial batch of SIF-made monopiles were shipped to the project’s temporary Newhaven Port base.
Discovery is continuing the installation campaign with a further three foundations due in soon.
Fugro is on call to lay JDR-made array cables later in the year with MPI and Swire Blue Ocean to tackle installation of 116 MHI Vestas V112-3.45MW turbines.
Rampion is being developed by Eon, the UK Green Investment Bank and Canadian energy company Enbridge. It will be commissioned in 2018.
