BayWa has brought six solar parks online totalling 130MWp in the UK and is in talks with institutional investors regarding the sale of the assets.
The plants are located in southern England and Wales, and include the 45MW Vine Farm facility – the largest single solar project realised by the company to date.
The projects came online in time to be accredited for the UK’s 1.3 Renewables Obligation Certificates scheme.
The company said more projects are at the engineering stage and it is keen to acquire projects below 5MW from local UK developers, particularly in Northern Ireland.
BayWa board member responsible for the energy business Matthias Taft said: “These six newly installed plants have increased the output we have realised in the UK in the areas of wind and solar to a total of 390MWp.
“Alongside our business activities in Europe and the USA, we are currently working on plans to implement our first solar projects in Asia.”
