Indian utility Torrent Power has struck a deal with an unnamed developer to construct almost 200MW of onshore wind in its home market.
The Ahmedabad company said that it was entering into the deal with a “leading wind turbine generator manufacturing group” on three wind farms totaling 197.4MW.
The agreement covers unnamed projects in the Kutch and Bhavnagar districts in Gujarat.
All three wind farms will be commissioned by March 2017, the utility said, with off take agreements for Renewable Power Purchase Obligations in place.
Torrent said it is also working on 136.8MW of wind in the Rajkot and Surendrangar districts, also in Gujarat.
