Seven more wind farms awarded Contracts for Difference last year have passed their milestone delivery requirements as stipulated by the Low Carbon Contracts Company.
The projects are: RWE’s 96MW Clocaenog Forest and 40MW Mynydd y Gwair in Wales; and RockbySea’s 30MW, EDF’s 177MW Dorenell, Banks Renewables’ 104MW Kype Muir and 60MW Middle Muir and Community Wind Power’s 37.5MW Sneddon in Scotland.
The milestone requirement has to be achieved within 12 months of entering into the CFD contract. It can be achieved via two possible routes.
These are the project commitment route – demonstrating contracts are in place to buy all material equipment for the generation and export of electricity – or spending 10% of the expected development and construction costs.
Last March, the LCCC entered into 27 contracts following the first CFD allocation round additional to the 14 Investment Contracts awarded in 2014, of which LCCC currently manage 13.
