GE has shipped the first Haliade 150 6MW wind turbine to an onshore test site at Østerild in Denmark from its Saint-Nazaire factory in France.
The Haliade has been transported on behalf of EDF Energies Nouvelles for which GE will install 238 turbines at three offshore wind farms.
The wind farms are the 480MW Saint-Nazaire, 450MW Courseulles-sur-Mer and 490MW Fécamp projects.
GE said five Haliade units will also be manufactured at the French factory for the 30MW Block Island offshore wind farm in the USA and 66 for the 400MW Merkur offshore project in Germany.
