FFP New Hydro and Aecom have teamed up in a $100m venture to build six hydropower projects in southeast Ohio.
The joint venture Muskingum River Hydro will install the facilities on the waterway of the same name with each plant expected to create up to 150 jobs.
Four of the six projects hold licences from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Total power across all six is expected to be 23MW.
“These low-impact generation facilities will be added to existing lock and dam structures owned and operated by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources,” said the partners.
The projects are expected to start construction in 2017 and commence operations by 2018.
