Dong Energy is preparing to export first power from its under-construction 330MW Gode Wind 1 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The project’s twelve installed Siemens 6MW turbines will be energised from 8 March, according to transmission operator TenneT. A2Sea vessel Sea Challenger has erected the hardware.
A 10-week trial operations period at the delayed 916MW Dolwin beta transmission hub started last month.
The remaining machines at the 97-turbine 582MW Gode Wind 1 & 2 complex are scheduled to be up this summer.
All 42 turbines at the sister project Gode Wind 2 were completed when the wind farm exported first power in February.
CT Offshore has completed the installation of inter-array cables in February.
In-water construction of the Gode Wind complex started in April 2015. Both projects, located some 33km north of Norderney island, are slated to be fully commissioned in the fourth quarter of this year.
