ERG Renew has acquired a 100% equity stake in TCI Renewables’ 45MW Brockaghboy wind farm in Northern Ireland.
The Derry project, which will feature up to 15 turbines, will enter construction in quarter 2 this year. The total investment is around €80m.
Brockaghboy qualifies for a NIRO, Northern Ireland’s onshore wind support scheme, under the grace period provisions established by Belfast last year.
ERG Renew said the deal gives it the option to submit a proposal to TCI to maintain ownership once the project is operational. However, should a third party make a higher bid the project will be sold.
The investment marks the Italy-based company’s debut in the UK wind market.
