Trina Solar’s Dutch subsidiary Trina Solar Netherlands has acquired from Solland Solar a 200MW solar cell manufacturing facility in Heerlen.
Trina Solar Netherlands acquired all of the manufacturing machines, equipment, stocks, office inventory and real estate from Solland Solar.
It will commence operations at the facility in the coming weeks.
Trina Solar chairman and chief executive officer Jifan Gao said: “This investment will be one of the components of our ongoing global expansion strategy.
“In particular, this new cell facility in Europe, along with our in-house manufacturing capacity in Thailand and other overseas capacities allows us to leverage our global resources so that we can further expand our presence and enhance our competitive edge in overseas markets, especially the US and Europe.”
