Gamesa has secured a pair of supply deals in India which will see it deliver 92 of its G114-2.0MW turbines to two wind farms.
The Spanish turbine manufacturer said the deals would see the class S wind turbine make its debut in India.
The hardware will be delivered to two unnamed projects, a 100MW wind farm in the state of Andhra Pradesh and an 84MW wind farm in the state of Karnataka. Both projects will be commissioned later this year.
Gamesa’s nacelle factory in Mamandur, close to Chennai, will oversee manufacturing.
Gamesa’s CEO in India Ramesh Kymal said: “Technology is a key source of differentiation in terms of maintaining Gamesa’s competitive edge in India, a priority market in which it is the leading OEM. India accounted for 28% of the company’s sales volume in the third quarter of 2015.”
The deals bring the global orderbook for the G114-2.0MW to 2GW.
