Siemens Wind Power has charted Eidesvik’s Acergy Viking for nine months as an accommodation and service vessel for the offshore wind sector in Germany.
The vessel (pictured) will undertake mobilisation prior to starting the contract, which includes installing an offshore gangway system.
This is Norway-based Eidesvik’s first foray into the offshore wind sector.
Eidesvik chief executive officer Jan Fredrik Meling said: “I am pleased with our organisation’s ability to adapt to a new market and that we will now enter a new business segment with one of our existing subsea vessels.”
