Logistics operator Collett has extended its fleet with the addition of three new carriers capable of transporting larger wind turbine blades.
Collett has added three Nooteboom Super Wing Carriers which can carry turbine blades of up to 80 metres long.
The trucks feature pendle axles which provide a 60 degree steering angle and more suspension travel for extra ground clearance and stability.
Hydraulically adjustable goosenecks can be fully loaded and driven at any ride height with the trailer bed remaining horizontal allowing the tractor to move easily.
The carriers also have a retractable chassis assembly and can extend or retract the rear axle assembly by more than six metres on a sliding bolster.
The company has also developed its 3D Swept Path Analysis software which was built in-house using the latest AutoCAD which allows Collett to improve information relating to transport routes.
