Saxlund has received an order from Babcock & Wilcox Vølund for the delivery of systems for the 40MW Port of Clarence bioenergy project near Middlesbrough in North Yorkshire.
The deal involves two systems for the reception, delivery and mixing of fuel storage valued at over £2.7m. Handover is scheduled in 2017.
Saxlund International sales director and UK managing director Matt Drew said: “
The Port Clarence project will provide 40MW of renewable energy to the UK energy market through the combustion of waste wood, and will have the capacity to consume about 250,000 tonnes of waste wood per year.
“The waste wood used to fire the power station will be diverted from landfill sites and the feedstock will be provided by Stobart Biomass Products; specialists in the provision of renewables logistics.”
