Solar cell and module manufacturer China Sunergy made a loss of $21.7m in the third quarter of 2015, up from $10.5m in the previous quarter.
The increase in losses came despite revenues been higher in the third quarter at $111.1m compared with $87.5m in the second quarter.
Revenue increases were down to higher shipments of cells and modules, the company said.
It attributed the increased losses mainly down to foreign exchange loss incurred from the depreciation of the RMB against the US dollar, as well as increased operating and administration expenses.
Total shipments of modules and cells in the third quarter were 308.9MW, an increase of 67% on the 184.5MW in the second quarter.
The increase was mainly due to demand from China, which stood at 195.5MW compared with 48.2MW in the previous quarter.
