SSE has sold to joint venture partner Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) a further 10% stake in the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm in Scotland.
SSE sais this is another major step in the project’s preparation for construction, in advance of the upcoming final investment decision due in March.
SSE continues to be lead operator of the project with its 40% stake alongside CIP (35%) and Repsol (25%).
The 588MW site is located in the Outer Moray Firth on the north-western point of the Smith Bank, 13.5km from the Caithness coastline at the closest point.
Earlier this month, independent energy company Danske Commodities agreed a 15-year power purchase agreement to manage 50% of the output from Beatrice.
