Opus Energy has commissioned its 2000th renewable energy generator, a 500kW hydro system in Doune in Scotland.
The hydro generator was fully commissioned in December 2015 with all excess energy produced by the landowner of Milton of Cambus Farm in Doune sold to Opus Energy and then passed on to customers.
Opus Energy head of renewable sales Tom Hoines said: “Renewable energy generation is an important part of our business model and this latest generator signals our intent to power UK businesses by the cleanest methods possible.”
Opus Energy has achieved 20% growth in the past year and in the last fiscal year, renewable energy made up 91% of its provision, split across wind, solar, hydro and anaerobic digestion.
