Avantha Group company CG is to equip for Dominican Republic transmission utility ETED the Cruce de Cabral substation with ZIV automation and telecommunication systems helping connect it to the 77.2MW Los Cocos wind farm.
Delivery is scheduled for March 2016 with commissioning by June.
The deal also includes system installation at a further six substations in the Dominican Republic.
It is part of the expansion of the electricity transmission system in the southern region of the country where the wind farm – the Dominican Republic’s first – is located.
The contract includes ZIV protection, control, telecommunication and engineering services and a complete telecom system for another four substations.
Avantha Group company CG chief executive officer and managing director Laurent Demortier said: “We thank ETED for this opportunity to partner them in the expansion of their transmission networks.”
