SeaRoc Group started its fourth operational year on 1 January on EDF Energy Renewables’ 62MW Teesside offshore wind farm.
SeaRoc was appointed principal contractor in December 2012, adopting full responsibility for the site at 1 January 2013.
The scope of work consisted of construction management for the installation of 27 2.3MW Siemens turbines and towers, completion of foundation works, cable termination, transition piece energisation, vessel management, installation of scour protection, array commissioning and interface management with the onshore works.
At its peak, SeaRoc employed a team of 40 people on the project, which was handed over to the EDF ER operations and maintenance team on 4 October 2013.
SeaRoc has continued to provide support to EDF ER through the marine coordination system for the O&M phase, as well as marine coordinators, rigging services, HSE advice and GIS services.
SeaRoc and EDF ER have recently signed a contract to extend these services into 2016.
SeaRoc Group head of operations Nick Murphy said: “We are proud to have been operating that system continuously now for over three years.”
