The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved the sale of a 50% stake in the 205.5MW Lakefield wind project in Minnesota.
Abu Dhabi National Energy Company subsidiary Taqa is selling its share to Nebras Power of Qatar.
Nebras us owned 60% by Qatar Electricity and Water, 20% by Qatar Petroleum International and 20% by Qatar Holding.
Taqa bought the Jackson County wind farm in 2013 from EDF EN. Japanese outfit Marubeni owns the other 50% of the project.
Lakefield, which started operation in 2011, features 137 GE 1.5MW turbines. The output is sold under a 20-year power purchase agreement to utility Indianapolis Power & Light.
