Work will start later this month on the onshore substation for the 1.2GW Hornsea One offshore wind farm.
Balfour Beatty was awarded the contract in December to build the substation, which will be located at North Killingholme in North Lincolnshire.
Work will also be carried out to bury the 40km onshore cable from its landfill site at Horseshoe point to the substation, as well as works at the landfill site where the onshore cable meets the offshore link.
Dong will host a community exhibition on 14 January to provide local people with an opportunity to find out more about the onshore project work.
The event will be held at the Ashbourne Hotel in North Killingholme.
