Vestas is to supply Hanwha E&C with 76MW for the YEP wind farm in Young Yang in the eastern part of South Korea.
The manufacturer will deliver, install and commission 22 V112 3.45MW turbines starting in 2017.
The deal also includes a 15-year active output management 4000 service contract and a Scada VestasOnline Business for data-driven monitoring and preventive maintenance.
Hanwha E&C general manager Jung Maeng Hwa said: “The YEP project is a significant and symbolic development for South Korea’s renewable energy market.
“We are pleased to partner with Vestas on the YEP project and convinced that Vestas’ vast knowledge of wind energy and their proven 3MW platform will ensure a strong business case throughout the project’s entire lifetime.”
Vestas head of pan-Asia Danny Nielsen said: “The project is our third order in South Korea in 2015 and demonstrates our ability to provide competitive cost of energy anywhere the wind conditions allow.”
Vestas is also to supply 90MW to an unnamed customer in Bahia in Brazil.
The manufacturer will deliver, install and commission 45 V110 2MW units for the unnamed project.
Delivery is planned for the fourth quarter of 2016, with commissioning expected in 2017.
The deals takes Vestas’s year to date order intake to over 8GW.
