German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion is to supply Blue Energy with 10 MM92 machines with a rated capacity of 2.05MW to its Cour wind farm on Scotland’s Mull of Kintyre.
The first turbine installations at Cour are scheduled for delivery in summer 2016, with commissioning slated for the autumn. Senvion has also concluded a 20-year maintenance contract with Blue Energy for the project.
The deal was first reported in the subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS.
The 20.5MW project is the sixth wind farm Senvion and Cheshire developer Blue Energy have worked on together in the UK over the past 18 months.
Senvion Northern Europe director Raymond Gilfedder said: “This is our sixth supply contract with Blue Energy, totalling a combined rated output of 175MW. We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with Blue Energy.”
Blue Energy chief executive Christopher Dean added: “We are delighted to be ordering another 10 MM92 turbines from Senvion.”
