Scottish-based tidal developer Atlantis Resources has appointed Stephen Ward in the newly-created role of director of power generation.
Ward is joining Atlantis’ new executive management group following the relocation of the company’s corporate headquarters from Singapore to Edinburgh. The new power generation director will report to the chief executive.
Prior to Atlantis, Ward was head of UK project management at Areva Wind before moving into offshore operations at the Areva-Gamesa joint venture, Adwen Offshore.
Before Areva Wind, Ward was a senior project manager at ScottishPower Renewables from 2006 to 2012.
Atlantis chief executive Tim Cornelius said: “Stephen’s operational experience, insight and knowledge of the renewable energy and power generation sectors gained over many years will be a huge asset at a truly exciting juncture in Atlantis’ development.
“As a key member of the executive management group, he will be crucial in helping to drive the construction stage of the MeyGen project and increase the company’s wider project development portfolio.”
