The Abu Dhabi National Energy Company is selling to Nebras Power of Qatar its 50% stake in the 205.5MW Lakefield wind project in Minnesota.
Abu Dhabi subsidiary Taqa seeks Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval of the sale.
It has requested a decision by 31 December so the deal can be finalized “as soon as possible in the first quarter of 2016”.
Taqa bought the Jackson County wind farm in 2013 from EDF EN. Japanese outfit Marubeni owns the other 50% of the project.
Lakefield features 137 GE 1.5MW turbines and interconnects with the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s transmission system. It came online in 2011.
All of the output is sold under a 20-year power purchase agreement to Indianapolis Power & Light.
