Australian renewable energy company BioPower Systems has deployed two cardinal buoys to identify the location of the bioWave pilot project on the Moyne River.
The buoys are in place to set out a 300-metre exclusion zone, which will remain in effect until 2017, around the project.
The bioWave system is yet to be deployed, with early December the expected date of deployment.
A subsea cable that will connect the bioWave to shore has been prepared on the beach at Taylors Bay and will be deployed at the next break in the weather, the company said.
