Senvion has bagged a four-turbine deal for Peel Energy’s 8.2MW Port of Sheerness onshore wind farm in Kent.
The German manufacturer will supply four MM92 machines with a rated capacity of 2.05MW and tip height of 125 metres.
The turbines are planned to be delivered to the site in the second quarter of 2016 and the wind farm is expected to be fully commissioned in the third quarter of 2016.
Construction by balance of plant contractors C A Blackwell on the site adjacent to Medway estuary commenced in July.
The Manchester-based developer said it has made good progress on the site’s sub-station and turbine foundations through the summer. All tower bases have been poured.
Peel has reached financial close for the £16m project, with KfW IPEX-Bank as the funding partner.
Peel Energy director Muir Miller said: “Financial close for Port of Sheerness wind farm demonstrates the team’s determination, perseverance and patience in working through a number of challenges on the site.
