Industry veteran Anders Soe Jensen has been named as the new chief executive of GE’s offshore wind business.
The Dane will lead the charge as the US company joins forces with Alstom to progress its 6MW Haliade 150 machine.
Soe Jensen (pictured) was previously head of Vestas Offshore and was most recently second in command with Alstom’s offshore unit.
His appointment was first reported in subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS earlier this week.
Yves Rannou, former head of wind at Alstom, has been named as chief executive of the GE hydro business.
Anne McEntee will continue to lead the onshore wind business. Alstom’s land-based turbines have official become part of the wider GE onshore unit.
GE completed its long-awaited €9.7bn takeover of Alstom.
The offshore business will progress as a 50:50 joint venture, as will the former Alstom grid operations.
