Senvion and Galliford Try have been appointed to build Fred Olsen Renewable’s 61.5MW Windy Standard 2 wind farm in southwest Scotland.
The Norwegian company said today it had awarded contracts for the project, also known as Brockloch Rig, with an eye to full operations in early 2017.
The contracting line-up was first reported exclusively in subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS in September.
Senvion will deliver a mix of MM82s and MM92s at Windy Standard 2. GT unit Morrison Construction will tackle civils at the Dumfries and Galloway site.
FOR chief David Brunt said: “(Windy 2) is a key site in our UK portfolio which opens up a new geographical area for us and we are pleased that things are progressing well as we now move towards construction.”
The project builds on the original 21.6MW Windy Standard, which is owned by FOR and RWE and features 36 Nordtank 600kW turbines.
