The DEME Group is organising 13 supply chain days in order to strengthen the UK offshore market.
A series of events throughout November and December will be put on to facilitate co-operation with local companies.
The DEME Group said that as “a leading company in the development, construction and maintenance of offshore wind farms” it is preparing new projects and contracts in the “rapidly expanding” UK offshore wind market. It hopes that in hosting the events it will give the supply chain a “clearer understanding of the scale and nature of future demand.”
Events in November will take place from the 23rd to the 30th in Glasgow, Inverness, Highlands and Islands, Aberdeen and County Durham respectively.
The program for December runs for eight days from December 2 to December 4 in Barrow-in-Furness, Liverpool and Belfast. It will then begin again for five days on December 7 in Grimsby, visiting Norwich, Colchester and Ashford in Kent before finishing in London on December 11.
A DEME spokeperson said: “Our involvement in the UK offshore business dates back to the early years of offshore wind. Through its operating companies GeoSea and Tideway, DEME Group has already worked on many projects like Greater Gabbard, London Array, Gwynt y Môr, Ormonde, Blyth, Teesside, Humber Gateway, Rhyl Flats, Westermost Rough, West of Duddon Sands and Kentish Flats.
” As lifecycle expert, DEME’s subsidiary OWA (Offshore & Wind Assistance) successfully decommissioned the Docking Shoal met mast and has several ongoing maintenance contracts in UK waters.”
The UK Roadshow is supported by Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and GROW:OffshoreWind.
