Enel Green Power has added an extra 445MW of installed wind capacity in Portugal after the split of ENEOP.
At ENEOP’s general shareholders meeting, shareholder’s approved the company’s split and agreed to share 1333MW of wind power assets amongst all shareholders.
The approval was a condition of EGP’s sale of its Portuguese assets to First State Wind Energy Investments.
This distribution of assets has led to EGP acquiring six wind farms as ENEOP was a joint venture between EGP Spain and Finerge S.A.
The wind farms will be owned by Finerge S.A., a new company set up to look after the new assets.
EGP now has 642MW of net installed capacity in Portugal.
